Stop paying for licenses
no one uses.
Automatic Software Asset Management. Detect waste (unused seats), over-license (unlicensed installations), upcoming expirations. Signed report for Microsoft SAM, Adobe VIP, Autodesk, BSA audits. Average company saves 15-30% of software spend.
The double problem of corporate software
Gartner 2024 study: the average company has 30% of licenses in waste (seats assigned to users who don't use the software) and simultaneously 15% over-license (more installations than contracted).
A 200-employee company typically spends €80,000-150,000/year on software. That means between €12,000 and €45,000/year wasted, and thousands more in legal exposure.
Itamite SAM detects both problems automatically by cross-referencing agent data (what's installed and who uses it) with your contracted license inventory. Typical ROI: the SAM module pays for itself in less than 6 months.
Complete licensing model
Support for the 6 standard market models, without forcing you into "one license = one install".
per_user
Each seat assigned to a nominal user. The user can have the software on multiple devices (laptop + desktop + home) and counts as 1 seat. Microsoft 365, nominal Adobe Creative Cloud.
per_device
Each seat consumed by installation on a device, regardless of user. Office Standard per device, industrial design software.
concurrent
Number of simultaneous sessions, not installations. High-end CAD software, engineering tools with FlexLM license server.
site
License for all devices in a site or organization without limit. Microsoft Enterprise Agreement, academic software.
capacity
Measured by processors, cores, GB RAM, requests/second. Oracle databases, server-side software.
open / freeware
Open source software, freeware or internally developed. No seat restriction but still recorded for full inventory and compliance.
What Itamite SAM detects on its own
Waste — seats with no real use
For each per_user license, Itamite compares assigned seats with real software last usage (measured by agent). If a user hasn't used Photoshop in 90 days, that seat is candidate to release. Prioritized list by seat cost.
Over-license — installs without seat
If you have 50 Office seats and agent detects 67 installations, there are 17 unlicensed. Itamite alerts immediately and shows which devices exceed. Critical before Microsoft SAM audit (can cost €30K-80K in fines).
Upcoming expiration
Configurable alerts 90/60/30 days before any license expiration. Email to procurement + Slack/Teams integration. Specific dashboard "Upcoming renewals" sorted by urgency and cost.
Unauthorized software (shadow IT)
Whitelist mode: explicitly authorized software. Any installation outside that list marked as "unauthorized". Blacklist mode: block specific categories. Alerts and regular reports.
EOL software (security and compliance risk)
Itamite maintains End-of-Life dates database for 2,000+ products. When detects EOL software in your fleet (Windows 7, Office 2013, Adobe Flash), alerts because it no longer receives security patches. NIS2 and ISO 27001 penalize it.
Ready for Microsoft SAM, Adobe VIP, Autodesk, BSA
When the audit letter arrives, Itamite is your defense.
- Microsoft SAM: the report filtered by "Publisher = Microsoft" is accepted as technical evidence. Demonstrates: number of detected installations vs contracted licenses, balance, and traceability per asset. Verifiable SHA-256 signature.
- Adobe VIP / Adobe Audit: Adobe audits typically every 2-3 years. Itamite generates the Adobe report detailing: installations per Adobe product, assigned seats, last usage per user.
- Autodesk Compliance: for companies with AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor: Itamite maintains detailed installation and usage record. The Autodesk report distinguishes between network licenses (FlexLM) and nominal.
- BSA (Business Software Alliance): BSA reports usually arrive after an anonymous email. Itamite gives you in 30 seconds the complete license compliance report for any publisher the BSA auditor wants to see.
